Man With an A-Team
For recording artists to be successful, they must surround themselves with the right kind of
people to develop the right kind of career. Throughout his decade-plus long tenure, Leon Lai
could not have wished for anything more. He is the most consistent producer of them all, constantly
reinventing himself (albeit feebly) and trying different things. What used to be the bashful
and unimposing sweetheart of the industry, Leon has built himself an enclave of power and clout. Throughout
the years, he has signed with the right record labels (first PolyGram, now Sony) and teamed up
with Mark Lui. Sometimes being effective is just knowing who you need to work with.

His songs is good but not with his voice. He should leave the music industry and just focus in acting. He is too big size to dance and it's irritating to see moving around on stage like a robot. I rather listen to Aaron's voice then Leon, Aaron is not good too but still forcefully OK. Don't think there is any more room for him to improve, he has tried his best in the past but his voice is terrible. No more singing please.
Leon Lai - from Baddie to Hero

The first time I watched Leon Lai's acting was in the laet 80's or early 90's in a TVB series, with Wilson Lam Chun-yin. Leon Lai was the baddie in the series, but what a good-looking baddie he was!
I used to watch TVB series on video tapes and my favourite is "The Breaking Point" especially the theme songs. But I didn't quite like theplot in "The Challenge of Life" though Leon Lai's and Deric Wan's portrayals were superb. His role in the movie "Three" in 2002 as a devoted husband also proved his prowess as an actor with distinction and not merely as a prtty face. He had some really good songs (especially teh slow tempo ones) but when he changed his record company and ventured into fast songs, it all went awry. I still love his ballads - his voice is more suitable to sing slow, romantic pieces.
Best of the Best!...and getting better

I'm from New York and have been a committed Leon fan since the 90's. Contrary to what some might believe, I think Leon is one of the most charming and charismatic artist. In recent years, he has begin to focus on producing less while enhancing qualities of his products. His willingness to experiment with various musical and performance styles is very much respected and I am seeing great products coming out of his experimentations. I can't wait to see where he will bring us to next. Can't wait to see his concert in mid-Oct.
He is what he is

Have been watching Leon since the early 1990s. He has not changed much but has definitely improved on his acting. He is more willing to undertake serious role now. Three is definitely a good exmaple where he acted as a physco. Leon is at his best taking on role which is unpretentious like Comrade and a gangster like in City Love. Maybe that is what he is -- straightforward and unpretentious in nature. Because of this, he has definitely offended many during his career path, and also caused the envious of those who need to pretend to survive. Leon is just what he is. So, love him or hate him as he will not change for you. He is a strong believer of principles and yet flexible on little principalities. I am proud of his progress so far, and am sure he will strive to be one of the best artistes in Asia. If you don't like him, you have to be either jealous of his progress and achievements, or just a sour-graper!

Have been watching Leon since the early 1990s. He does have a good voice especially when singing live and his acting, depending on what type of character he takes on, and maybe because he is not pretentious in nature, he is very good especially when he acts in simple country boy role (Comrades), or a gangser (City of Love). Very intelligent and quick-witted guy, he surely proves that he knows what he is doing in his career path. He made mistakes at times, but he will analyse the situation and make some turnaround. The recent 'Seven Swords' movie should fit him well as he is what Tsui Hark described as 'gentle yet heroic'. Tsui Hark has a flare for choosing the right calibre artistes for his movie and this is the best choice he has made. I have watched him over the years and compared him with other artistes and still like his unpretentious, straightforward character. He might have offended many over the years, but at least you know he is what he is. Good job Leon, keep it up!
