Timeless -- transcendental
Sonny Le from Oakland, California, USA on March 9, 2005
Though I am neither Taiwanese nor fluent in Mandarin,
I have been a fan of Tsai Chin for over 10 years.
I was seduced by Tsai Chin's voice instantly when a
friend popped a cassette into her tape player when I
was visiting her in Taipei. (And I am not even one of the
so-called old-timers. I was born in the 60s.)
Tsai Chin's voice and her command of the songs she
sings are what set her apart from most, if not all,
contemporary singers. Most pop singers just lip/mouth/
sing the lyrics, but Tsai Chin sings as if the songs were
written especially and meant for her to sing.
It's the full range of emotions pour from her voice that
captivates my ears, and heart, and the same thing goes
for most others upon hearing her. I have played Tsai
Chin's CDs to friends, Asians, blacks, whites, Latinos,
it's all the same reaction -- WOW! Who's that?
She's a classic for all times
Thank you.
Unforgetable old songs and voice

It has been more than 17 years since I left the island for the West, her voice and song are still so familiar, touching, and bring back my memory in college.
One of the incredible singer in the present era

One of the incredible singer in the present era.
I do recall the very first time I rented her album (198x live concert in hk or taiwan???) by mistake in late 80s. Yeah, it's true, as a teenager, you never spend your pocket money to a muture artist as her.
As long as I started playing the black album, I was deeply catched by her marvellous voice ....so smooth, calm, emotional and not so powerful, just well enough to touch your souls. I couldn't stop to listen her songs til to the end. I screamed with the audiences for an encore of more performance...
It is so glad to see there are more youngster start to know her due to the top movie "Infernal Affairs". Needless to say her outstanding song "The Forgotten Times" will surely become one of the greatest music collection in your home store.

She is the best singer.I like her song very much.
Full of love, full of sadness
Samuel Hui from Travelling around the world on February 26, 2004
Full of love, full of sadness, is how i'd describe Tsai. When u listen to her songs, u always feel it's as if a lady who's been abandoned by her lover telling her story. she's no doubt one of the top low-range/mid-range female singers out there. If you really like her, the next level to try is Paula Tsui, who's sang many songs that Tsai Chin has done as well. As compared to Tsai Chin's style, Paula's singing is full of philosphy, carried out by a magnetic mid-range voice and technique of ease and charm.
